The Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ

This week we reflect on Luke 9:28-36 [NRSV] [CEV] [CEB]

You may have wondered, ”What happened to the 10th Sunday after Pentecost?“ Feasts of Jesus Christ which are kept on a fixed date take precedence over the Sunday when that feast falls on a Sunday. The Feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ is kept on August 6th each year, which this year falls on a Sunday. This week's reading is the gospel for the feast, so we take a break from Matthew to hear from the Gospel according to Luke.
