Who We Are
Welcome to St. John's in New City, New York! We invite you to join us on our spiritual journey. St. John's Church is a eucharistically-based faith community comprised of neighbors and families celebrating our different understandings of the Christian faith within the Episcopal Church.
We have a variety of worship services on Sundays and special liturgical days throughout the year. Our worship is blended so that you can attend services in person or online. We have Holy Eucharist at 9:30 am on Sundays and during the week we offer Noonday Prayers and Compline. Sign in info is on our worship page.
St. John's Episcopal Church is a part of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. As such, we are a part of the larger community of the world-wide Anglican Communion.
We are part of Rockland Deanery which encompasses 10 Episcopal parishes. We are also a member of the Rockland Collaboration, a group of 6 parishes within our Deanery. The primary purpose of the Collaboration is to equip, empower, and support lay leadership in Rockland County congregations.
We are involved with local, diocesan and world programs to benefit and share with others and you may read about current projects on our Outreach page. St. John’s helps to purchase grocery cards for families in our local school district and we provide food and volunteers for the feeding ministry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Spring Valley. We foster a sense of outreach and service in all age groups and across the ministries and groups of the parish.
We believe that Christian Formation is a lifelong journey and thus our education programs encompasses all ages from preschool to adults.
We are currently in a transition period as we search for our next priest.
We hope that you will explore our website and come worship with us on Sundays at 9:30 am or during the week!
